Section 32 is a site-specific installation by Clare McCracken that transports an ordinary home 100 years into the future to investigate what the future of Australia's sprawling suburbs will be.

VILLAGE is an audio-installation created in collaboration with the residents of retirment villages in Launceston, Tasmania. VILLAGE is a sequel to HOME and is the second part of a trilogy of works about ageing in contemporary Australia.


The Becalmed Heart

Underbelly Arts Festival

Sydney 2015

The Becalmed Heart is a large-scale immersive installation created from over 20,000 plastic grocery bags. The project is an meditation upon our waste and the impact of human intervention on nature.



Next Wave Festival

Melbourne 2014

HOME is a site-specific audio installation that invites audiences into the deserted home of a stranger. HOME considers what it means to be the last one left in a family home when your children are grown and partner is gone. HOME is the first part of a trilogy of works about ageing in contemporary Australia.

The Third Place is a site-specific audio work. The Third Place was commissioned by Carclew in response to community tensions around the way a group of young people were using public space in Port Noarlunga, South Australia.

A collection of site-specific audio works created for a dry-docked paddle steamer as part of the annual Fairfax Festival. The Fairfax Festival is an initative iviting professional artists to create work with young people living in regional Victoria and New South Wales.
